    Recently appointed head of franchise recruitment for Mortgage Choice, Jerome Smith brings an impressive repertoire to the table. MPA spoke with Smith about what attracted him to the role and why now is a good time to start a Mortgage Choice business.

    The growth of a pioneer

    Hailing from the world of real estate, Smith has quite a track record when it comes to growing franchise networks.

    “I am a growth specialist, having helped grow 29 Franchise offices and recruit 150 sales people across both the Ray White Group and LJ Hooker Corporation.”

    His most recent role was that of senior network development manager and senior auctioneer with the LJ Hooker Corporation.

    He says he is excited to be starting the next chapter of his career with such an iconic company.

    He adds that record low interest rates coupled with strong consumer demand makes now the perfect time for brokers to start their own Mortgage Choice business.

    Smith offers the three following tips for franchisees who are just starting out:

    1. Become the standard bearer of exceptional customer service in your local area.
    2. Develop and maintain a robust contact management plan and communication plan to stay top of mind.
    3. Develop a strong digital online and social media presence.
